Northern California Scholarship Foundation

Progress Through Education

Application Process

In order to receive a scholarship from the Northern California Scholarship Foundation you must be a high school senior attending a Northern or Central California public school. Scholars will only receive an application if they are nominated by their high school counselor. Only one nomination per high school is accepted. The scholarship boundaries are from Kern, San Luis Obispo and Inyo counties to the Oregon border. If you live in one of the counties highlighted in green below, you are within the location requirements of the scholarship.

California public high schools are sent one nomination form and an application at the end of December and are required to be returned in February. Applications for our scholarship are given to nominated students by their high school. Scholarship applications are due in March. After the foundation office receives the returned scholarship applications, the foundation trustees select the students who will be invited to interview for the scholarship at the Oakland Scottish Rite. Interviews take place at the end of April. Students who are selected for the scholarship after this interview process are informed in mid May, after a trustee selection meeting. Check calendar for specific dates.
